                                                 Ricky  Ponting
Ricky Thomas Ponting AO (born 19 December 1974), nicknamed Punter, is an Australian cricketer, and former captain of the Australia national
cricket team between 2004 and 2011 in Test cricket and 2002 and 2011 in One Day International cricket. He is a specialist right-handed batsman, slips and close catching fielder,
as well as a very occasional bowler. He represents the Tasmanian Tigers in Australian domestic cricket,
the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League,
and played in the Indian Premier League with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008.
He is widely considered by many to be the best batsman of the modern era,
along with Sachin Tendulkar of India and Brian Lara of West Indies.
On 1 December 2006, he reached the highest rating achieved by a Test batsman in the last 50 years.
Ponting made his first-class debut for Tasmania in November 1992, when just 17 years and 337 days old,
becoming the youngest Tasmanian to play in a Sheffield Shield match. However,
he had to wait until 1995 before making his One Day International (ODI) debut,
during a quadrangular tournament in New Zealand in a match against South Africa.
His Test debut followed shortly after,
when selected for the first Test of the 1995 home series against Sri Lanka in Perth,
in which he scored 96. He lost his place in the national team several times
in the period before early-1999, due to lack of form and discipline, before becoming
One Day International captain in early-2002 and Test captain in early-2004.
After being involved in over 160 Tests and 370 ODIs, Ponting is
Australia's leading run-scorer in Test and ODI cricket. He is one of only three players in history to have scored
13,000 Test runs. Statistically, he is the most successful captain of all time,
with 48 victories in 77 Tests between 2004 and 31 December 2010,
while as a player he is also the only cricketer in history to be involved in 100 Test victories.[1]
On 29 November 2012 Ponting announced his retirement from Test cricket,
the day before he would play in the Perth Test against South Africa.
This will be his 168th and last Test appearance,[2] equalling the Australian record held by Steve Waugh.[3][4]

Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj[1] ( pronunciation (help·info)) (born 6 January 1959, Chandigarh Punjab, India), better known as Kapil Dev,
is a former Indian cricketer. He captained the Indian cricket team which won the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
Named by Wisden as the Indian Cricketer of the Century in 2002,[2] Kapil Dev was also India's national cricket coach for 10 months between October 1999 and August 2000.
Kapil was a right-arm pace bowler noted for his graceful action and potent outswinger,
and was India's main strike bowler for most of his career. He also developed a fine inswinging yorker during the 1980s,
which he used very effectively against tail-enders. As a batsman, he was a natural striker of the ball who could hook and drive effectively.
A naturally aggressive player, he often helped India in difficult situations by taking the attack to the opposition. Nicknamed The Haryana Hurricane,
he represented the Haryana cricket team in domestic cricket.[3] He retired in 1994, holding the world record for the most number of wickets taken in Test cricket,
a record subsequently broken by Courtney Walsh in 2000. At the time, he was also India's highest wicket taker in both major forms of cricket, Tests and ODIs.
He is the only player in the history of cricket to have taken more than 400 wickets and scored more than 5,000 runs in Tests, making him one of the greatest all-rounder to have played the game.
On 8 March 2010, Kapil Dev was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame[4]

Balasaheb Keshav Thackeray
Balasaheb Keshav Thackeray was an Indian politician, founder and chief of the Shiv Sena,
a right-wing Hindu nationalist, and Marathi ethnocentric party active mainly in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.
Born: January 23, 1926, Pune
Died: November 17, 2012, Mumbai
Spouse: Mina Thackeray
Parents: Prabodhankar Thackeray
Party: Shiv Sena
Children: Uddhav Thackeray

Balasaheb Keshav Thackeray (IPA: [ʈʰakəɾe]; 23 January 1926[1] – 17 November 2012[4]) was an Indian politician,
founder and chief of the Shiv Sena, a right-wing Hindu nationalist,
and Marathi ethnocentric party active mainly in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.
His followers called him the Hindu Hriday Samraat ("Emperor of Hindu Hearts").[5]
Thackeray began his professional career as a cartoonist with the English language daily The Free Press Journal in Mumbai,
but left it in 1960 to form his own political weekly Marmik.
His political philosophy was largely shaped by his father Keshav Sitaram Thackeray,
a leading figure in the Samyukta Maharashtra movement (United Maharashtra movement),
which advocated the creation of a separate linguistic state of Maharashtra. Through Marmik
, he campaigned against the growing influence of Gujaratis, Marwaris, and south Indians in Mumbai.
[1] In 1966, Thackeray formed the Shiv Sena party to advocate more strongly the place of Maharashtrians
in Mumbai's political and professional landscape. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Thackeray built the
party by forming temporary alliances with nearly all of Maharashtra's political parties.[6] Thackeray was
also the founder of the Marathi-language newspaper Saamana and the Hindi-language newspaper Dopahar ka saamana.
[7] He was the subject of numerous controversies.[6] Upon his death, he was accorded a state funeral with over 2,000,000 mourners.[8]

Mini Biography
Barack Obama was born to a white American mother, Ann Dunham, and a black Kenyan father, Barack Obama Sr., who were both young college students at the University of Hawaii. When his father left for Harvard, she and Barack stayed behind, and his father ultimately returned alone to Kenya, where he worked as a government economist. Barack's mother remarried an Indonesian oil manager and moved to Jakarta when Barack was six. He later recounted Indonesia as simultaneously lush and a harrowing exposure to tropical poverty. He returned to Hawaii, where he was brought up largely by his grandparents. The family lived in a small apartment - his grandfather was a furniture salesman and an unsuccessful insurance agent and his grandmother worked in a bank - but Barack managed to get into Punahou School, Hawaii's top prep academy. His father wrote to him regularly but, though he traveled around the world on official business for Kenya, he visited only once, when Barack was ten.

Obama attended Columbia University, but found New York's racial tension inescapable. He became a community organizer for a small Chicago church-based group for three years, helping poor South Side residents cope with a wave of plant closings. He then attended Harvard Law School, and in 1990 became the first African-American editor of the Harvard Law Review. He turned down a prestigious judicial clerkship, choosing instead to practice civil-rights law back in Chicago, representing victims of housing and employment discrimination and working on voting-rights legislation. He also began teaching at the University of Chicago Law School, and married Michelle Robinson, a fellow attorney. Eventually he was elected to the Illinois state senate, where his district included both Hyde Park and some of the poorest ghettos on the South Side.

In 2004 Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate as a Democrat, representing Illinois, and he gained national attention by giving a rousing and well-received keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. In 2008 he ran for President, and despite having only four years of national political experience, he won. In January 2009, he was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States, and the first African-American ever elected to that position.
